This cultivated species (a yellow stonecrop) is locally persistent on rocky sites; 2n = 72. It is not generally clear if new patches are formed disjunct from original plantings. However, at Lower Howards Creek in CLAR, M. Brock recently (26 May 2015) found "100's of Sedum sarmentosum in bloom along the creek walls, deep in the gorge."
