This restricted midwestern prairie species is unlikely in Ky., but there is a record from adjacent Floyd Co., Indiana, across the Ohio Rv. from JEFF (D). There are a few dubious reports from Ky. (M); B's coll. from HARD (US) was redet. as viridiflora. Like variegata, sullivantii has broad glabrous leaves, but these are broadly rounded to subcordate at a subsessile base (versus tapering to cuneate and distinctly petioled).
