This occurs mostly in the Ozark region and cedar glades of the Interior Low Plateaus. In Ky. there are only one or two well documented localities: in n. SIMP and s. WARR (Cranfill 1980; KSNPC database). It grows in depressions on limestone with saturated soil in spring, becoming dormant in May. More colls. are needed for herbaria.
