Apiaceae <Api-Selenieae> Ligusticum canadense var. c.
Ligusticum canadense (L.) Britt. var. canadense
ALI: no HAB: 7,11,8, n/a, B?, 3 ABU: g8, s8, -3
This occurs mostly in Appalachian regions and the Ozarks, but with scattered intervening records as well (K). In Ky. typical plants usually occur in thin woods on submesic to subxeric sites with medium acid soils. Although widely scattered, Ligusticum is rarely, if ever, common. Without flowers, it is sometimes confused with Angelica venenosa, but in Ligusticum: "A distinctive vegetative feature is the relatively straight and entire basal portion of each leaflet (W)."
