This bunchgrass can cause serious reductions in forage quality of pastures. It became established in the Carolinas and Illinois after 1950 but it is "perhaps successfully extirpated as a noxious weed" (W). There is a coll. reported from PIKE (NC) in Ky., but details are not yet available.
