This perennial and the closely related L. intercursum Bickn. are concentrated on the Coastal Plain to the south and east, respectively. However, disjunct occurences do occur to the north in both cases (K, PL). BA reported floridanum from the Coastal Plain of Ky., but colls. have not been located. L. floridanum has recently been discovered in Mo. (Thomas 2017).
