Ranunculaceae <Thalictreae> Anemonella [Thalictrum] thalictroides
Anemonella thalictroides (L.) Spach
ALI: no HAB: 5,11,7, n/a, C, 1? ABU: g10, s10, -2
This is widespread in mesic to subxeric woods across eastern states, but uncommon to rare on the southeastern Coastal Plain (FNA 3; W). Anemonella is a monotypic genus, with showy umbels of insect-pollinated flowers, but it is often combined with the largely wind-pollinated Thalictrum by some authors. Recent molecular analysis indicates a close relationshio with T. clavatum, which retains perfect flowers but lacks showy sepals (Soza et al. 2013). Reportedly, 2n = 14 in general but 42 has also been cited (Cr).
