This small shrub of wet acid soils occurs mostly on the southeastern Coastal Plain, and there are no verfified records from Ky. However, E. racemosa (as "Andromeda") was reported from the state by McMurtrie (1819), and it is known from adjacent counties in e. Tenn. There is also a remarkably disjunct record from Robertson Co. in w. Tenn, within a few miles of the Ky. state line (Ch).
