Apocynaceae Vinca minor
Vinca minor L.
ALI: EU HAB: 7,5,11, n/a, D, 1 ABU: n/a, n/a, 5
This low evergreen creeper from southern Europe has often persisted from plantings in east-central states. It spreads vegetatively, but establishment from seed is not documented in Ky. Although cultivated here since early settlement (Gm), it was not properly documented as an escape until the 1930s (B). It is sometimes abundant over several acres in and around old cemeteries. See general notes on invasive evergreen vines under Euonumus fortunei.
