Fumariaceae [Papaveraceae] Corydalis flavula
Corydalis flavula (Raf.) DC.
ALI: no HAB: 7,4,5,11, n/a, D, 3 ABU: g10, s10, -2
This winter annual, typical of disturbed eutrophic woodland, occurs mostly in east-central states from Appalachians to Ozarks. Another "yellow corydalis" is Pseudofumaria lutea (L.) Borkh., which is a perennial from central Europe that is becoming popular as an ornamental. P. lutea may be locally naturalized in North America, but there are almost no verified records from southeastern states including Ky. (K, W). There is a coll. by V. Soukup on 1 June 2006 from Hamilton Co., Ohio, as "naturalized along liimestone walls and steps... 338 Compton Rd., Wyoming" (SERNEC 2025)
