This rarely reported southern weed may be easily overlooked or mistaken for a Houstonia. The assignment to family remains uncertain; it has also been placed in Buddlejaceae, but that family is now disbanded, and Buddleja can be grouped with Scrophulariaceae; see W for discussion.
