This tree has been widely planted across eastern states, and it is reported to have escaped in a cool temperate zone from New England to the mid-west (K). Some possibly self-seeded trees were recently observed at "Central Kentucky Wildlife Refuge" in BOYL (L. Baird posting on iNaturalisr.org), at Tom Sawyer Park in JEFF, and may be expected at the Lexington Cemetary in FAYE. See notes under Tetradium for similarities and differences.
