This common European maple is occasionally planted, and there are a few collections from self-sown plants in FAYE (JC), JEFF (herbarium of Ind. Univ. SE) and perhaps MADI (CW); colls. from BULL (DHL) have been from cutlivation at the Bernheim Arboretum (M). No reproducing populations are known yet in Ky. However, the species is becoming locally naturalized on base-rich soils in northeastern states, including the Cincinnati area (pers. obs.) and other parts of Ind. and Ohio (K).
