Anacardiaceae Rhus glabra
Rhus glabra L.
ALI: no HAB: f-8,10, n/a, D, 4 ABU: g10, s10, 2
This is widespread across temperate regions of North America. Like many other species of the genus, fruits of glabra can be used to make a lemonade-like drink for humans, with malic acid contributing much of the flavor. There has been a long history of research into the beneficial chemistry of Rhus fruits (e.g. Sando & Bartlett 1921, Kossah et al. 2009, 2011).
