Rubiaceae <Rubieae> Galium [clade III] parisiense (var. p.)
Galium parisiense L.
ALI: EU HAB: F-10?, ::?, C?, 5 ABU: n/a, n/a, 4
Presence in the state remains uncertain; there has been confusion with divaricatum. G. parisiense was mapped in Ky. by W, but records from LYON (MUR), MARI (EKY) and MENI (EKY) need to be confirmed. In Ky., it is possible there are two segregates of the pariense complex that have stricter inflorescences and more ascending branches compared to divaricatum. These are (1) G. parisiense, sensu stricto (with bristly-hispid and papillate fruit); and (2) G. anglicum Huds. (with smooth to shallowly papillate fruit). Both taxa are known from Tenn. (Lipscomb & Nesom 2007; Ch, W). G. anglicum has been recently reported by W.E. Thomas from TRIM (JEF) but needs verification.
