This low rhizomatous shrub from southwestern Europe is widely grown in temperate regions around the World. It is a popular ornamental ground cover with large yellow flowers. It is not known to escape in eastern North America, except for a few colls. suggesting "naturalized" status near the Univ. of Tenn. in Knooxville (W). There is no evidence here of spread by seed.
