This is widely distributed across midwestern regions, in prairies, savannas and forests on a wide variety of soil types and substrates (F, Cr, Y; Cypher 1993). In Ky it is verified only from a gravelly ridge in CALL (with several 1972-82 colls. at MUR); but during recent searches we have not been able to relocate these plants.
