Gentiana villosa L.
ALI: no HAB: 7,8,10, n/a, B, 3 ABU: g8, s8, -2
This ranges across southeastern states east of the Mississippi Rv., usually in submesic woods on acid soils. Of all Gentiana species in eastern North America, it is the most typical of deeper woods; 2n = 36 versus 26 in most or all others, and hybrids are virtually unknown. Corollas are usually whitish at first with green veins, but often become flushed with purple or even bluish and then can be confused with other species.
