This mysterious 4-merous species is widely scattered across cool-temperate regions of North America, usually in similar habitats to its close southern 5-merous relative, indecora (K, W, Y). However, coryli is relatively uncommon or poorly documented, and it has been considered globally imperiled or vulnerable (G2G3) by Costea et al. (2006c). Its status remains uncertain in several states. In Ky. colls. have been from reported from Eastview Barrens in HARD (MM #19271-89 for WKY) and perhaps elsewhere (M; Costea et al. 2006c, Adams & Thompson 2017), but verification and details are not yet available. The HARD coll. may be glomerata.
