This pink- or white-flowered Asian species,(the "sacred Indian lotus", is cultivated occasionally, and can persist in ponds for decades (J). There are 1982 colls. from GRNP (, APSC, KNK), and recent records on iNaturalist.org from BOON and LEE. Both species have remarkable thermogenic flowers that attract beetles, flies and bees (Dieringer et al. 2014).
