This species from warm wet regions of Asia and Africa has become locally naturalized in lawns at scattered sites in southern states from Pacific to Atlantic coasts (K). The first record from Ky. was in 1914 (Gm): "introduced in a park at Louisville [JEFF], where it is reported as spreading.". However, no coll. has been located to support that record.
