This is considered adventive from tropical regions (Cranfill 1980). There are colls. (DHL) from BELL (14 Jul 1940, Clear Creek Springs) and NELS (Oct 1940, Nazareth College Gymnasium). However, the latter may have been from cultivation; see also coll. (NCU) on 2 Nov 1940 from same location as "unfinished gymnasium..."
