Solidago speciosa Nutt.
ALI: no HAB: 8,11,10, n/a, D, 3 ABU: g9, s6, -4
This occurs mostly from the Ozarks to the Appalachians and mid-Atlantic states, usually in thin woods and brusy openings on base-rich soils. It has been combined with S. rigidiuscula and even S. erecta in some recent treatments (K, J), but those taxa are distinct (Cr, FNA 20). Treatment as separate species is reasonable (J. Semple, pers. comm.).
