This large East Asian fern is frequently cultivated and after the 1980s it has started to escape in some southeastern states (W). It should be expected in Ky. D. erythrosora differs from ludoviciana and goldieana as follows (W): costae (mid-veins of pinnae) with bullate (blistered-appearing) scales abundant, usually dark (versus not so).
