In Ky. this northeastern species is largely restricted to mesic ravines in Appalachian regions. However, there are disjunct localities on local acid soils of the Interior Low Plateaus, including a few sites along the Kentucky Rv. in the Knobs, and in the Pottsville Escarpment.
