Cuscutaceae [Convolvulaceae] Cuscuta <Grammica> indecora
Cuscuta indecora Choisy
ALI: no HAB: f-9,10?, n/a, D?, 5 ABU: g10, s6?, -4
This occurs widely on diverse hosts in western and southeastern states, Mexico and West Indies, especially in damp to dry sandy open habitats (F,W, Y). C. indecora, together with coryli, differ from other Cuscuta species of eastern states in their corollas: covered with dense minute papillae ("appearing as numerous little bumps"), relatively fleshy, and with acute incurved lobes (Spaulding 2013a). Both are diploids (2n = 30). There are few verified records of indecora from Ky. or Tenn. (Ch). Colls. from Ky. can all be referred to var. neuropetala (Engelm.) A.S. Hitchc., but that taxon has not been recognized in recent treatments.
