This showy alien is often cultivated and has persisted at scattered sites in northeastern states. In Ky. there are colls. from CAMP (EKY), JEFF (DHL) and LAUR (EKY) but it is not clear if these plants were truly naturalized. Some cultivars are reported to spread by seed in gardens of FAYE (Brian Radcliff, pers. comm. at 3709 St Clair Court).
